A 'Manly' Woman...

Hello everyone,

got this via another site...

Fixing cars, mowing the lawn, plumbing, lighting, etc.

Are there any Akeet Women that do any of these typically 'manly' jobs?

Just Me,
MrAkeet

I can and will mow the lawn. I actually like being out in the yard - being one with nature

I'm away from the phone, not bombarded by the idiotic programming on the TV, can't be IMed or texted. It's one of the few places I can go and hang up my 'do not disturb' sign. My neighborhood is pretty quiet - so it's a good way to wind down for me.

The other stuff - cars, plumbing/electrical - not so much. I've got 3 brothers and quite a few good friends who do that kind of stuff and they're just a call away.

I am a pretty independent woman. I was a single mom for a few years, struggling, so I had to learn a few new tricks. My daddy tought me to change my own oil. I helped install a new shower in my 1st floor bathroom. I did all the plumbing parts. I am not intimidated by hard work so I don't mind mowing the lawn, weeding gardens, changing lighting, and I Love to Paint. My husband is not mechanically inclined but is good with building stuff and will do the majority of the manly jobs but if he is not around, I don't wait for him to show up to get the job done. I don't waste time on the oil changes, go to a shop, it is less trouble to dispose of the used oil that way.

Mr. Akeet - ;) I'm really not feeling the term 'manly' woman as a way to describe a woman able to handle certain non-traditional roles. We need to find you another term that doesn't have such a zing!
